A fire broke out earlier on Monday in the old town of the Ionian island of Lefkada. Six traditional wooden houses have been already burned, local fire-fighting authorities said. A strong team of firefighters is currently in the area battling the blaze while a helicopter is participating in the operation. The area is densely populated and the wooden houses are next to one another.
