Kef fire risk 24/08/23: Medium

Today’s bank rates:
1 €UR = £0.8822 GBP
1 €UR = $1.1129 USD
£1 GBP = 1.1335 €UR
$1 USD = 0.8986 €UR

Based on Alpha Bank exchange rates, these are widely used by exchange agencies in Greece.
Other banks likely to offer a different rate which may be marginally higher or lower.
Banks and foreign exchange offices normally charge standard 2% commission.
You may get a better rate changing your holiday money in advance at e.g the
Post Office.
NB: some f-ex agencies advertise "No Commission".
Invariably, they deduct commission before they (don't) advertise the rate.
Foreign exchange offices are businesses, not charities.

Greece investigating whether organised arson groups to blame for deadly wildfires

The exact cause of the fires is unclear and Greece's Supreme Court prosecutor Georgia Adilini has launched an investigation into whether organised arson groups were operating in the region.

Greece's climate crisis and civil protection minister Vassilis Kikilias has confirmed the northeastern fires started in several places simultaneously.

Haven't seen any in the UK yet (not that I buy many bottles of water / pop in UK) but likely, I'd think, to come to the UK if not there yet: plastic bottle caps more securely fastened to bottle. Idea is that the cap and bottle stay attached to one another as many caps get 'lost' and end up littering the streets, fields and beaches.

Took me a little while to figure they snap, rather than screw, closed after opening.

Been around in the UK (my area at least)  for a while now on water and diet coke bottles. I find then a pain when trying to pour from the bottle so just snap the lid off and screw it back on when finished.
